Charity Event

Lands End to John o' Groats in 24 hours

To celebrate our 60th Anniversary, in November (Date TBC), Highbridge Caravans is undertaking an epic challenge - a journey spanning the length of the UK to highlight and celebrate our valued British manufacturers and our history. Jody, our Devon motorhome Sales Manager who's been in the industry for over 20 years, along side 2 other colleagues will embark on a long and arduous estimated 20-hour drive, excluding any pit stops or breaks, in a campervan from Land's End to John o' Groats, but with a significant twist: we'll stop at every one of our UK manufacturing partners along the way. This ambitious route is far from straightforward, significantly extending an already challenging drive.

Our aim is to complete this demanding journey within an incredibly tight 24-hour deadline, allowing very little margin for error-every second counts. This event will also serve as a charity fundraiser, supporting Children's Hospice South West, a cause deeply cherished by our team and notably by our Director's mother, Mrs Davies, who along with her friends from a Highbridge group have raised £170,000 over the years for Children's Hospice South West.

History Repeats Itself

This remarkable event also has historical significance for us. In 1981, Gordon, a respected and retired 50-year veteran at Highbridge Caravans, in a team of 4 completed a similar feat, driving non-stop from Land's End to John o' Groats while towing a caravan. Pausing only briefly for fuel and essential needs, with extra fuel cans clattering in the boot of his Volvo, they successfully raised approximately £680 for St John Ambulance-a substantial amount at the time.

Our Cause

Children's Hospice South West provides specialist hospice care for babies, children and young people with life limiting conditions-together with comprehensive support for their families-throughout the South West of England. Its services span planned respite stays, emergency admissions, palliative care and end of life care, delivered across three dedicated hospices: Little Bridge House in North Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Harbour in mid Cornwall.

We have launched a dedicated campaign on JustGiving.com to maximise our fundraising impact. All donations will be gratefully received for this vital charity.
