The A38 Connection: Highbridge Caravans Welcomes Devon’s Outdoor Experience!

For anyone travelling along the A38 between Plymouth and Exeter, the name Outdoor Experience is likely very well known. Initially trading from a site adjacent to the dual carriageway at Ashburton, and more recently from a four-acre site at Teigngrace (near Trago Mills), the business has grown from a camping gear specialist into a premier destination for new Bailey caravans, used caravans, and professional caravan servicing. Now, an exciting new chapter begins. Looking towards their well-deserved retirement, the previous owners, Roland Honour and his wife Sandra, have chosen to sell the business to Highbridge Caravans, owned by the Davies family. As a close-knit team, Roland and Sandra were delighted to pass the torch to another established family business that shares the exact same core family values and commitment to customer care.

Expanding into the South West

For Highbridge Caravans, this acquisition makes perfect sense. Our main 10-acre Somerset site is also famously located right on the A38 near Burnham-on-Sea, where we have spent over 50 years perfecting our customer service. Bringing the Devon-based Outdoor Experience into the fold allows us to seamlessly expand our reach across the South West. What does this mean for our Devon customers? You can expect the same fantastic, friendly on-site team, backed by the extensive industry expertise of Highbridge. Even better, we are introducing motorhome and campervan sales to the Teigngrace site for the very first time!

We have a wealth of exciting upgrades planned for our new Devon branch. We are launching a large investment programme to improve all the current on-site facilities, ensuring our visitors enjoy a world-class experience. Moving forward, customers will be able to browse:
