A Life-Changing Journey - From Corfu to the UK with Three Rescue Kittens

What began as a relaxing holiday in Corfu soon became a life-changing adventure for Karen and David, one that would lead them to rescue three kittens and embrace a whole new way of travelling. While exploring the island, Karen and David came across a stray kitten, whom they named Zorba. At just 4.5 months old, she quickly stole their hearts. Only days later, a second kitten appeared and was named Omelette, followed by a third stray, Pumpkin, who was around seven months old. Faced with the reality of leaving them behind, the decision was simple: all three kittens were coming home.

With the kittens temporarily cared for by the hotel management in Corfu, Karen and David returned to the UK to prepare for the journey ahead. During this time, they visited the Highbridge Somerset branch, where they purchased their motorhome with the help of Simon, one of Highbridge Caravans’ experienced sales team.   They chose a Bürstner motorhome, which quickly became more than just a vehicle. In tribute to their beloved cat Lola, who had sadly passed away, they named the motorhome in her memory, making it a true part of the family.

Once everything was in place, Karen and David returned to Corfu to collect Zorba, Omelette and Pumpkin and begin their journey back to the UK. The road trip was an unforgettable experience, filled with discovery and companionship. The three kittens bonded beautifully and adapted quickly to motorhome life, settling into their new surroundings with ease.

Transporting the kittens to the UK followed all legal requirements. The hotel’s Guest Relations Manager arranged veterinary checks, rabies vaccinations, microchipping and EU Pet Passports, ensuring the process was fully compliant and stress-free.

Now safely home, Karen and David are already planning their next adventure, this time closer to home, with their feline companions travelling alongside them. Their story perfectly highlights the freedom and flexibility that motorhome travel offers, especially for pet lovers looking to explore without leaving anyone behind.
